Zululand Rhino Safari Tour
Hluhluwe/Umfolozi Park
4 Days
Day 1
Overnight: Hilltop Camp
Meals: D
We set out from Durban to experience the
excitement of a wildlife safari in the oldest game reserve in Africa, Hluhluwe/iMfolozi
Park. Proclaimed in 1895 for the protection of the white rhino that was threatened with
extinction, the park is now home to the largest populations and densities of both black
and white rhino in the world. All the members of the 'Big 5' as well as the complete
spectrum of antelope that naturally occurred in this region make this a world-class
wildlife destination.
On entering the park there is an immediate awareness of the peace of
the African bush. Civilisation falls away and the smell and sounds of the bush occupy the
senses. The drive to Hilltop camp, situated on a magnificent site overlooking the park, is
our first game viewing experience. On arrival we will have a chance to unpack, settle in
and freshen up. The lodge has all the necessary luxuries to make our stay a perfect
combination of comfort and African adventure. Two additional game activities have been
included during your stay at Hilltop. Guests may choose from a game drive in an open
safari vehicle, a night drive, a guided walk, or a river cruise (depending on water
levels)
Days 2 and 3
Overnight: Hilltop Camp
Meals: B & D
After a good night's sleep, our
day's programme starts with early morning tea and coffee and a light snack before setting
off at the crack of dawn in search of game. A possible close-up encounter with an elephant
instills immediate respect for this magnificent creature! Along the way our personal guide
shares his knowledge of wildlife, vegetation, ecology and the park's management and
history. We spend midday in camp relaxing around the pool or in our chalets.
Day 4

An early breakfast and continue onto St Lucia and
